 Set Read Only Attribute to the file

 Read-Only attribute for a file. Here are the steps to do it:

  1. Locate the file you want to set as Read-Only.
  2. Right-click on the file and select "Properties" from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the Properties dialog box, locate the "Attributes" section.
  4. Check the box next to "Read-only" to set the file as Read-Only.
  5. Click "Apply" and then click "OK" to save the changes.

That's it! The file should now be set as Read-Only, which means that it cannot be edited or deleted. However, please note that this does not provide complete protection for the file, as someone with the appropriate permissions can still change the attribute and make modifications to the file.




Hide the file or folder

You hide a file or folder. Here are the steps to do it:

  1. Locate the file or folder you want to hide.
  2. Right-click on the file or folder and select "Properties" from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the Properties dialog box, check the box next to "Hidden" under the "Attributes" section.
  4. Click "Apply" and then click "OK" to save the changes.
  5. If prompted, select "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files" to apply the hidden attribute to all the files and folders within the current folder.
  6. The file or folder should now be hidden from view. To view hidden files and folders, go to the folder options in Windows Explorer, click on the "View" tab, and select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives."Please note that while hiding a file or folder can make it less visible, it does not provide complete protection. Someone with the appropriate permissions can still find and access the hidden file or folder.


Change the folder icon

You change the icon of a folder. Here are the steps to do it:

  1. Right-click on the folder whose icon you want to change.
  2. Select "Properties" from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the Properties dialog box, click on the "Customize" tab.
  4. Click on the "Change Icon" button.
  5. In the "Change Icon" dialog box, you will see a list of icons to choose from. You can select one of these icons, or click on "Browse" to select a different icon file.
  6. Once you've selected an icon, click "OK" to close the "Change Icon" dialog box.
  7. Click "Apply" and then click "OK" to save the changes.


That's it! The folder icon should now be updated with the new icon you selected. Note that the new icon may take a few moments to appear, and it may not be immediately visible in all views or on all systems.


Use of the preview pane option


The Preview Pane is a feature in Windows Explorer that allows you to view the contents of a file without actually opening it. This can be useful when you want to quickly preview the contents of a file without having to open it in a separate program. Here are some ways you can use the Preview Pane options:

  1. Turn on/off the Preview Pane: To turn on the Preview Pane in Windows Explorer, click on the "View" tab in the ribbon, and select "Preview Pane" in the "Layout" section. To turn it off, simply click on "Preview Pane" again.
  2. Change the size of the Preview Pane: You can adjust the size of the Preview Pane by clicking and dragging the divider between the Preview Pane and the file list.
  3. Change the preview options: You can customize the preview options to show or hide different types of information in the Preview Pane. To do this, click on the "View" tab in the ribbon, and select "Options" in the "Show/hide" section. In the "Folder Options" dialog box, click on the "View" tab and then scroll down to the "Advanced settings" section. Here, you can check or uncheck various options to customize the Preview Pane, such as showing file details or hiding the Preview Pane for certain file types.
  4. Preview files: To preview a file, simply select it in the file list, and its contents will be displayed in the Preview Pane. You can use the left and right arrows at the top of the Preview Pane to navigate through the files in the folder, and you can use the scroll bar on the right side of the Preview Pane to scroll through the contents of the file.

Hide the Taskbar

You hide the taskbar in Windows. Here are the steps to do it:

  1. Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar.
  2. Select "Taskbar settings" from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the Taskbar settings window, scroll down to the "Taskbar" section.
  4. Find the "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode" option and toggle it to "On."
  5. If you want to hide the taskbar in tablet mode as well, toggle the "Automatically hide the taskbar in tablet mode" option to "On" as well.
  6. The taskbar should now be hidden when not in use. To access it, simply move your mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen and it will appear. If you are in tablet mode, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the taskbar.


That's it! The taskbar should now be hidden when not in use. To make it visible again, just follow the steps above and toggle the "Automatically hide the taskbar" option to "Off."


Change the position of the taskbar


Here are the steps to do it:

  1. Right-click on a space on the taskbar.
  2. Hover your mouse over the "Taskbar settings" option, and then click on "Taskbar settings" when it appears.
  3. In the Taskbar settings window, scroll down to the "Taskbar location on screen" section.
  4. Click on the dropdown menu under "Taskbar location on screen" and select one of the four available options: "Bottom," "Left," "Right," or "Top."
  5. The taskbar should now be repositioned to the location you selected. If you selected "Left," "Right," or "Top," the taskbar will be displayed vertically instead of horizontally.

That's it! The taskbar should now be positioned in the location you selected. If you want to move it again, simply follow the same steps and select a different position from the dropdown menu.


Set the screensaver of your name on the desktop



Steps to set a screensaver of your name on the desktop in Windows:

  1. Open the Control Panel by typing "Control Panel" in the search box on the taskbar and selecting it from the search results.
  2. In the Control Panel, click on "Appearance and Personalization," and then click on "Personalization."
  3. In the Personalization window, click on "Screen Saver" at the bottom-right corner.
  4. In the Screen Saver Settings window, select the screensaver named "3D Text."
  5. Click on the "Settings" button next to the screensaver selection.
  6. In the 3D Text Settings window, enter your name or any text you want to display in the "Text" box.
  7. You can customize the font, color, size, and speed of the text by clicking on the "Font," "Color," "Size," and "Speed" buttons respectively.
  8. Once you have customized the settings, click on the "Preview" button to see how the screensaver looks.
  9. If you're satisfied with the screensaver, click on "OK" to save the settings and close the 3D Text Settings window.
  10. Finally, click on "Apply" and then "OK" to save the changes and exit the Screen Saver Settings window.

That's it! Your customized screensaver with your name or text should now be set on your desktop. It will automatically activate after the time specified in the Screen Saver settings.
