To configure an IP address on your computer, you can follow these general steps:

- Right-click on the network adapter you want to configure (e.g., Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and select "Properties."
- In the properties window, scroll down and select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" or "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" and click on the "Properties" button.
- In the IP configuration window, you can choose to obtain an IP address automatically (via DHCP) or manually configure it.
- To configure a static IP address, select the "Use the following IP address" option and enter the desired IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server addresses.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
- MacOS:
- Go to the Apple menu, select "System Preferences," and click on "Network."
- In the Network preferences, select the network interface you want to configure (e.g., Wi-Fi or Ethernet) from the left-hand side list.
- Click on the "Advanced" button and go to the "TCP/IP" tab.
- From the "Configure IPv4" or "Configure IPv6" dropdown menu, select "Manually."
- Enter the desired IP address, subnet mask, router (gateway) address, and DNS server addresses.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
- Open the Network Connections settings. This can usually be found in the system settings or by clicking on the network icon in the top-right corner and selecting "Edit Connections."
- In the Network Connections window, select the network connection you want to configure (e.g., Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and click on the "Edit" button.
- In the editing window, go to the "IPv4" or "IPv6" tab.
- Choose the "Manual" method from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the desired IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server addresses.
- Click "Apply" to save the changes.
Remember that when configuring a static IP address, you should ensure that the chosen IP address is within the correct subnet range and not already assigned to another device on the network. Additionally, the steps and terminology may vary slightly depending on the specific operating system version you are using.
